On 28th April 20201, our Director, Alex Jacobs, presented a paper to the Worshipful Company of World Traders on the UK’s role in the fight against dirty money.
Britain currently plays a central role in global illicit financial flows. Alex illustrated the harm this enables around the world through industrial scale tax dodging, corruption and undermining the response to climate change. He outlined a powerful agenda for change, to ensure financial integrity.
After Brexit, Britain faces a choice. We can maintain the existing systems in order to maximise short term profit. Or we can get organised to dismantle what is harmful, and help realise Nelson Mandela and Joel Joffe’s vision of democratic and free societies with equal opportunities for all.
